(via Diminutive Nouns: Boys and Girls and Men and Women | Modern Primate | The Manhood Manual) i actually read an article last semester about how some young women in france think being called “mademoiselle” is demeaning. it’s interesting. although i do know some people that get very upset when their women’s college is called a “girl’s school” or  a “girl’s college”
