Is it ever okay to refer to an adult woman as a girl? Many will tell you, “absolutely not, no, not ever.” What about referring to a man as a boy? It’s not as simple as you might think.

i actually read an article last semester about how some young women in france think being called “mademoiselle” is demeaning. it’s interesting. although i do know some people that get very upset when their women’s college is called a “girl’s school” or a “girl’s college”
